Ten Tips for Long, Healthy Hair

These are my tips for getting longer, healthier hair:

1.) Don't wash your hair every day if you can help it. Skip a day every now and then because shampoo can be very drying on your hair. Your natural oils will do your hair some good.
2.) Worry more about distributing the conditioner through your hair instead of how long you leave it on for.
3.) Comb out tangles while the conditioner is in your hair. It works as a detangler so you don't damage your hair trying to get out tangles.
4.) Let your hair air dry when your not in a rush or use the blow dryer on a cool setting.
5.) Use a heat protecting spray when you style your hair. Sometimes, I will spray it on just the ends of my hair. Tresemme, Chi, Suave, and Pantene are only a few of the brands who make one.
6.) When your brush your hair start at the ends and work your way up. Don't just rip through your hair or you may damage it where it is tangled.
7.) Get rid of your dead ends! If your hair is damaged on the end it will continue to break off, and you will never gain any length. Trim your hair every 6-10 weeks.
8.) Don't sleep with your hair in a ponytail. It can damage your hair.
9.) Work with your natural hairstyle once in awhile. I always play up my natural wavy hair.
10.) Never brush, straighten, or curl your hair when its wet. It damages your hair!

Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner!

I use a lot of heat products, and I end up with dry, damaged hair if I don't take care of it. I want my hair to look and feel healthy! I have used a lot of shampoos and conditioners, but I never bought the same thing twice! I have dry, wavy hair that can be a little hard to manage, and they never did anything special. I always knew there was something better out there! (I have the same issues with mascaras! Ha.) Most shampoos are very drying, but after using these my hair feels super moisturized! I always leave my conditioner in for a few minutes and afterwords my hair feels like silk. It definitely hydrates, and it smells wonderful. I feel like it makes my hair more manageable and controls the frizz that comes with dryness. I am a sucker for packaging too! Anyway, I have finally found something I can stick with! I always pick up the value bundle from Walmart for only $9.50. It comes with the shampoo and conditioner in 23.7 fl oz bottles.

Braided Headband!

Another effortless hairstyle! I had people asking me all day if the braid was my real hair. Haha.

This is my secret! First, I gather up a small section of hair to form the braid. I always pull from the underneath layers so the beginning of the braid doesn't show. Next, I'll comb the small section of hair in the direction the braid will lay. While I am braiding it, I keep it pulled across my forehead in that direction. If you braid it and then try to pull it across your head, it wont lay flat. Finally, I will pull up my top layer of hair on the other side and clip the end of the braid underneath. Easy!

Big Hot Roller Curls!

Jilbere Ceramic 20 Roller Setter

This is my exact hot roller set. It comes with twenty rollers ( 8 Large, 6 Medium, and 6 Small), 12 clips, and 12 metal clips. It heats up in three minutes. I picked this up from Sally's beauty supply. I love hot rollers. You can get so many different styles based on where you place the rollers or what size you use! Also it is better for your hair, and it doesn't cause heat damage. I will set my hair in the rollers and do my makeup or chores around the house. It is so simple.
Haha, so it isn't so beautiful at first, but in the end it will be worth it! Please excuse the Hello Kitty bath towel as well. I started by using the eight largest rollers on the top of my head. Then I used the medium rollers in the second row. Near the nape of my neck I used the smallest rollers. Then after twenty minutes I let them down and use hairspray for some extra hold.
Yay for beautiful curls!

Trend I love: Hippie Headband

I love hair accessories! I don't like to wear the same hairstyle everyday, and accessories are a great way to switch it up. What do you guys think of the hippie hairbands?

How to Get Super Curls!

I love bouncey curls! It sorda reminds me of Taylor Swift's hair. It always makes me feel super girly.

I always use my Chi Iron Guard before I using any type of heat on my hair. It protects my hair and keeps me from getting split ends. One bottle has lasted for a long time too.

This is the tool that makes the magic happen! This is the Conair Infiniti curler. It has a small barrel that is perfect for creating ringlet curls. I just twist my hair around the barrel starting from top to bottom. It can go up all the way to 400 degrees, but I use it on the lowest heat setting. My curls always hold. I got mine from Sally Beauty Supply for only $40.00. Anything with a small barrel will do the job though. I don't like for mine to have a clamp either. It makes funny lines on my hair!

Haircut: Be Blunt About Bangs!

Okay, so I never realized how much drama bangs could cause. One friend told me they looked gorgeous, and another told me I ruined my hair! I thought it was cute. Opinions? And be brutal! Do they really look that bad?

Hair Tutorial: How to Make a Simple Hairbow!

First Step:
Create a ponytail on the crown of your head.

Second Step:
Take a second hair band and tie it around the end of your hair in your ponytail.  Keep a small section of hair out of the second hair band

Third Step:
Split the hair between your two hair bands in half. You should still leave a strip of hair to the side.

Fourth Step:
Push the second hairband behind the first, and where you split your hair should fall to each side. Secure it behind your head with a clip or bobby pins. Now, all that should be left is that one strip of hair.

Final Step:
Take the last strip of hair and pull it in the middle of your bow. Secure it behind your head in the clip or with bobby pins.

Its super easy and super cute. I hope you give it a try!
