My Weekend Makeup!

So I havn't posted in a while. I have been sick, and I am getting back to campus life. So long summer. :( I did manage to keep up with a few of my looks this past weekend.

I love winged liner and a nude lipgloss! I feel like my eyes are very round and this type of liner elongates them. I used my Revlon Colorstay liner.

This is my sick day look. It's practically nothing. I had school stuff to take care of, and I had to grin and bear it. I used some white eyeliner to look bright eyed and awake. I was so out of it. Ha. I used a pretty pink blush by Too Faced to brighten up my dull skin. It is called Pink Provocateur. I also put on some pink lipstick. It was the Maybelline Colorsensational in Pink Sand.

Candy Makeup: Nerds!!

Another wearable candy makeup! This is my third one. I have already done bubble gum and chocolate. I'm saving up for a new camera. My very vibrant makeup never gets picked up by my current one! Bear with me until then!

Contouring: Before and After Pics!

With all of my makeup tricks, contouring is the newest to me. I used to think I was to pale to use a bronzer, and I would look orange. Now I know that isn't the case, and I am addicted to contouring.
This picture explains why:
I look so sad in the before picture HA.
I don't use much so it isn't a huge difference, but it thins out my face. I have a some big cheeks and a round nose. I'm not complaining about looks, but I love my slim face after contouring. Here is how I do it!
The picture explains it all!

Nose:
Starting a little below my eyebrow, I take my bronzer brush and swipe down the sides of the bridge of my nose. Then I blend and blend so it doesn't look like I have racing stripes down my nose. Then I finish it off by using my brush down the sides of my nostrils. It is amazing how much it can slim the nose. It definitely makes mine less round!

Cheeks:
First, you need to find the hollow of your cheek. Feel your cheeks, and find where the cheek bone sticks out. Right under that is the hollow where you need to contour. Starting from my hair line I take my brush and blend across my face. When I blend I brush down toward my jawline. Then like magic your cheek bones pop, and your face slims up!

Forehead:
This is to give the illusion of a smaller forehead. I just blend under my temples only along the hair line.

Candy Makeup: Bubble Gum!

Another candy look that is very wearable. I already did chocolate. This is just a fun mix of pinks and blues! I love pink on fair skin, and the blue did wonders for my eyes! Anybody have any ideas for a fun, wearable candy look?

My Makeup Do's!

When I was doing a post on makeup don'ts, I asked my friends what they thought. It was funny how different our opinions were. I think we had a twenty minute conversation on appropriate eyeliner. So, I decided we should come up with our makeup do's. These were mine...
Do try blue eyeshadow!
If your afraid of the crazy neon blues try navy. Navy is very wearable! I always beg my friends to try color!

Do Try A Red Lip
I love wearing a fresh clean face with a red lip. I don't think lipstick is only for special occasions. I will wear it to the grocery store! It makes my teeth feel whiter too.

Do Wear Fake Eyelashes
I don't like the thick, crazy ones with colors and glitter. I love a natural, romantic look. Sometimes I will even cut the ends and just use them.

Do you have any makeup Do's or don'ts?

Candy Makeup: Chocolate!

I decided to start a series of makeup inspired by candy. Of course chocolate is my favorite! My camera really didn't pick up how dark and creamy my makeup was, but I figured why not show it anyway? And it's very wearable!

These are the products I used:
First, I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden all over my lids. I used the darkest, chocolate shades in my Elf Beauty Encyclopedia (The bottom Row). I used the lightest color to cover my entire lids. Then I used  the darker ones in the creases and outer corners. To line my lids I used Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in the color Cinnabar. Then I used Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion in blackbrown on my eyelashes.
Next, I used Bare Minerals Bronzer Warmth all over my cheek bones.
I used Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in Bronzer Beam. These lipsticks feel so moisturizing!

Makeup Tutorial: Two Toned Eyes!

When I am in the mood for a fun makeup look I love to play with colors. So I tried out the trendy two toned eyeliner look. Its fun and completely wearable!

I used Urban Decays eyeliner in electric under my eye waterline. It is a stunning blue color. I used Urban Decay eyeshadow in flash on my top lids. These two colors are so vibrant and make a great combination.

Five Makeup Dont's!

I was thinking of some of the terrible makeup mistakes I made when I was in high school. I really wish someone would have told me to just put the makeup brush down. I have tons of pictures that need to be burned. Here are a few tips on what NOT to do.

One:
Please don't over do the eyeliner. Eyeliner can be flattering and make your eyelashes fuller when its applied properly. When it is done wrong it can be a tragedy. If your going for a bold, fun look try a fun cat eye not a raccoon eye.

Two:
My first prom I remember wanting to go all out. I had a bold smokey eye and bold red lips. Looking back at the pictures everything looks so overdone. My advice: pick one or the other. Don't let your facial features be fighting each other for attention.  Christina Aguilara is gorgeous, but here her makeup is overdone.

Three:
I am very pale, and when summer begins I want to have some color. Please don't do what I did and apply bronzer all over your face. Only apply bronzer around your hairline, jawline, and under the cheekbones. Lindsey Lohan has a great complexion but here it is blotchy and orange.

Four:
Don't use shimmer around wrinkles. It makes fine lines look even more noticeable. It can make someone with perfect skin look wrinkled. I only apply shimmer in highlight form on my cheekbones. This girl has beautiful skin, but shimmer made her eyes look baggy.

Five:
Don't go crazy with eyebrows. Use a shade only a few shades darker than your hair. Follow the lines of your natural eyebrow. If the eyebrows are done right they can really bring attention to your eyes.

Review of the Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain and Balm

I really like this product! It gave me fuller looking lips, longer lasting color, and great pigment. It is just like a marker, and it is so easy to use. It is kind of like coloring in the lines! I got mine from a drug store for $8.99. Now I have to say, as much as I love these, there is a negative side. The chap stick part of the product broke off after only two uses!! It sticks straight out and doesn't roll down. I don't know what they were thinking when they made that decision, but other than that I love it.

This is me with the color Lust on my lips. Anyway, I give this product four stars.

Natural Eye Make-up Look!

I'm going on a date tonight, and I want my eye make-up to look natural. So this is my no make-up look! It is simple and easy to do. There are only five steps! I hope it gives you some inspiration.

These are all the products I used: Elf Beauty Encyclopedia in neutral, Urban decay primer potion, eyelash curler, Maybelline eyeliner, and Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion. Everything but the primer potion is a drug store product! I'm on a college budget!

First Step:

I start of every eye make-up look by applying a very small amount of my Urban Decay primer potion all over my lids. This product keeps my make-up from creasing, makes the pigment stronger, and makes it last all night.

Second Step:

Next, I apply this taupe colored eye shadow all over my eyelids. It is very light with only a small amount of shimmer.

Third Step:

Next, I use this light, warm brown and apply it in the creases of my eyes.

Step Four:

A great tip for natural looking eyes is to use a brown eyeliner instead of a harsh black one. I'm using Maybelline unstoppable eyeliner in the color cinnabar. I line my top lid and then I line my waterline very lightly.

 Step Five:

Finally, I go over my top and bottom lashes with my Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion in black/Brown.

The Best Foundation for Your Skin Type!

1.) Oily Skin

I know how difficult it is to have oily skin. In only a few hours your make-up looks like it is going to slide right off your face. I like to use mineral powder. It gives enough coverage and it absorbs oil. It also lasts all day. The only down side is that it is messier. I'm loving L'Oreal mineral foundation.
2.) Dry Skin

Powder can sometimes emphasize flaking or dryness and I enjoy something with more coverage than tinted moisturizer. I like liquid foundation the best. Neutrogena healthy skin foundation is great for dry skin. It gives the skin a dewy glow.

3.) Combination Skin

This skin type can be tricky. You don't want dry patches to look scaly or the oily areas to be shiny. I think Revlon colorstay for combination/oily skin is perfect. Liquid covers the dry areas and it helps to control the oily ones. You can also set the oily areas with a powder.
These are all great products and they are also affordable!
